We, Bruce’s family, Barbara, Eric, and Lori, wish to thank each and every one of you who donated to the recent fundraising campaign in Bruce’s name. We are proud to double every dollar you contributed to maximize the benefit to the Counseling Psychology Program at the University of Maryland. We look forward to staying apprised of Fretz Day events and are glad to support all the great things the students are doing with the funds each year. Thank you again, from all of us, for helping keep Bruce’s memory and his love for Counseling Psychology alive.

Your gift will support expenses tied to doctoral research such as local travel, printing services and other administrative costs.
We want to ensure that our doctoral students are well prepared to transition into their professional careers. Your gift will cover the cost for them to attend professional training and development programs. These programs will help students formulate clear career goals, be introduced to a variety of academic and nonacademic career possibilities, and learn skills needed for managing post-PhD careers.
Your generosity will offset costs associated with travel, lodging, and/or registrations for conferences. Conferences provide valuable opportunities for doctoral students to present papers, observe top scholars in counseling psychology, attend panels relevant to their research and network with members of their field.
Preparing for and conducting the research necessary for a top tier thesis is time consuming and can be costly. Your donation will cover the cost of purchasing data sets, audio / video equipment rentals for interviews, or the purchase of general supplies needed for a thesis defense.
You generosity will defray the costs incurred by doctoral students who are engaged in dissertation research. This will relieve much of the financial constraints often associated with the purchase of key software or compensation for research study participants.
