ABOUT US
The University of Maryland College of Information Studies (iSchool) is a leading research and teaching college in the field of information science. The iSchool has educated thousands of information professionals over the last 50+ years. At the iSchool, we focus on fostering access to information, improving, information interfaces, and expanding how information can be used in an evolving world – in government, education, business, social media, and more.
Our undergraduate program, Bachelor of Science in Information Science (BSIS), is a Top 10 most popular program at UMD based on size. We are producing graduates with a unique combination of skills in software engineering, data analytics, and user experience (UX). The program prepares students to design solutions, create systems, and lead teams that bring together information, technology, and people to meet critical individual, organizational, and societal needs.
OUR FUND
The iSchool is committed to promoting learning opportunities outside the classroom for all of our students. The iSchool Undergraduate Student Travel Fund helps our students gain the experience and exposure that comes from attending and presenting at regional, national, and international conferences. This is not only an excellent professional experience, but raises the visibility of the College among peer institutions and the professional community. This fund is intended to help students defray some of the costs of their attendance by offering assistance for registration fees, travel, and lodging costs.

This donation helps cover a meal cost for a student during their travel! Since conference registrations usually include breakfast, and sometimes lunch, this donation will help cover meals that are not included.
This donation will help offset transportation costs associated with travel for students! Our students choose the most cost-effective transportation to attend a conference.
This donation will help cover 25% of a student’s total lodging costs for a professional conference!
