What is a Wellness Warrior?

For 5 years, these barbershops and beauty salons have answered the call of their community. During the pandemic, they responded back to an ad looking for dedicated professionals who were willing to have a vaccine clinic in their business. They came to Rapid Response Training at the Maryland Center for Health Equity and showed their community love in a chaotic time. 

Every year, they dedicate themselves to learning more about health and wellness. The Wellness Warriors have been transforming their shops into new homes for healthcare. They have put in the work and the hours, becoming community healthcare workers, putting on events, and connecting healthcare professionals and clients together. 

What makes them Warriors is that none of this work is easy. Now they need your help. In the wave of federal cuts and the complete disruption of the health care system, we realize that they need a cushion.
