We're Halfway There!!!

April 23, 2015

Hello everyone!

Today marks the halfway point of our campaign, and we are happy to announce that we have raised more than half of our goal. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. With the money we have raised so far, we will be able to purchase more lab equipment and chemicals, conduct more lab procedures, and plan for future team expenses. Working on such a large-scale materials engineering project requires a lot of time and resources, and we would not be able to do it without your support.

In the past 15 days, we have already been working in the lab preparing samples of cellulose nanopaper. As part of our research, we will study the property changes associated with using different starting materials, such as pine and jute. We are about to begin our esterification reactions to increase the water stability of the paper.

This coming Saturday is Maryland Day, and we would like to invite everyone to visit our booth and learn more about our project. Our booth will be located at Hornbake Plaza, and our team will give short presentations about our project at 11am and 1pm. We would love to see you there! Again, thank you for your generous support!

Thank You for Your Support!

May 27, 2015

Team NATURE would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout our Launch campaign. Our team successfully raised more than $6,000, and we could not have done it without your help.

Following the success of our campaign, Team NATURE plans to continue working in the lab throughout the upcoming summer. This past week, we successfully microfluidized our nanocellulose solutions, which brings us one step closer to producing paper samples. The use of this equipment would not have been possible without your generous support. We are very excited to produce paper samples so that we can subsequently begin property testing and data collection.

To further express our gratitude, we plan on creating a donor wall on our website to acknowledge everyone who has contributed $100 or more to our project. However, if you would prefer that we not post your name, please email us at teamnature2017@gmail.com to let us know.

If you would like to stay updated on our future progress and achievements, please visit our website or like our Facebook page

Thank you again for your amazing support, and we hope you have a wonderful summer!

$5

The NanoGift

This contribution buys our team a sample of carbon nanotubes to help increase the paper's conductivity.

$10

The MicroGift

This contribution will help our team purchase glassware, such as beakers and erlenmeyer flasks, which are pivotal in the paper-making process.

$25

The MilliGift

This contribution will allow us to buy the necessary chemicals to perform plasma treatment on the paper, making it more waterproof.

$50

The CentiGift

This contribution will help send one member to a scientific conference to discuss our research. Receive a handwritten thank you note from a team member.

$100

The KiloGift

This contribution buys our team solvents such as pyridine and ethanol, which are necessary to complete reactions . Also, have your name and reason for donation posted on our website.

$250

The MegaGift

This contribution helps buy all necessities for paper making, such as starting materials, chemicals, materials for filtration and TEMPO.

$500

The GigaGift

This contribution helps the team complete different testing procedures, such as the Steady State Method and Atomic Force Microscopy. Receive an invitation to attend our Thesis Conference when we finish our research.

$1,000

The TeraGift

You have funded one-sixth of our entire project! In addition to the previous materials, your gift will go towards funding team travel to nanotechnology conferences. In addition to the previous items, you will receive a hard copy of our final thesis!
