Introduction
We are a team of undergraduate researchers under the Gemstone Honors Program, aiming to develop a next generation system of drug delivery using nanoparticles, specifically targeting cancer. The American Cancer Society projects that, by 2024, approximately 2 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer, with 30.6% succumbing to the disease. Conventional treatments like chemotherapy are unable to effectively and specifically target cancer cells without causing collateral damage to surrounding healthy cells. Because of this issue, it is imperative that this is alleviated by focusing on a new genre of tech: nanotechnology.
Our Goal
We are in the process of creating Drug-Agonist Vesicles (DAVes), a nanoparticle that we designed and are in the process of testing. We aim to not only develop these but to also create a unique method of mass production by using microfluidic technology to make and filter our DAVes for consistent sizing.

Your donation will allow us to accrue more fundamental components to test different concentrations and compositions of nanoparticle drugs, such as phosphocholine.
Your donation will allow us to obtain more components to test different prototypes of microfluidic devices for mass production of nanoparticle drugs.
Your donation will allow us to move one step forward with conducting our cell assays for in vitro testing of our nanoparticle drugs.
