WHO ARE WE?
We are Team OARS, a group with one goal - to innovate. Our team consists of 12 passionate students studying various engineering and computer science disciplines. We are here to make our mark on the university before we all graduate in May of 2026.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Over the next two years, our objective is to build a prototype of an autonomous unmanned surface vehicle (USV) - an autonomous boat - that will help rescue operations in stormy weather conditions. We can only start this with your help. We hope to raise $5,000 to be able to start working in a lab where we will begin the fun of building the first stages of our prototype.
Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please see your tax advisor for details.
A donation of $25 will contribute towards purchasing the necessary wiring.
A donation of $100 will contribute towards the cost of purchasing an advanced machine vision camera.
A donation of $200 will help us buy the components to build the hull.
