NOMAS UMD (The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students: UMD Chapter) is a student chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) professional organization. NOMAS UMD supports minority students within UMD's School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, and has reached other departments as well. Each year, NOMA hosts an annual conference for student and professional members of NOMA, to celebrate minority architectural excellence through various seminars, events, awards, student design competition, and more. This year's conference in Portland, Oregon is special for NOMAS UMD, as we are competing in this year's student design competition for the first time since our chapter's establishment several years ago. We are currently seeking financial support for our members who are attending the conference for our airfare, lodging, and other group expenses while on our trip.
