Today we reached a HUGE milestone in our Launch UMD campaign for AB Scholarships- we are 30% towards our goal! 

Thank you so much for your support! We are already able to provide 10 additional students with funding for their Alternative Break experience! As an AB intern and scholarship recipient, I'm so excited to see this campaign have such a strong start!

Alternative Breaks Intern

It is crunch time in our LaunchUMD campaign to fund additional Alternative Break Scholarships! With only 11 days left, we are 52% towards our goal of $8,000! 

We are so grateful for the support so far- this is an awesome milestone in our campaign! Thank you!!!  We know there are many more students who won't be able to participate in Alternative Breaks this year without additional funding in the form of a scholarship and are exctied to have the opportunity to provide financial funding to support them because of you! As a participant, leader and now intern- I can't imagine my undergraduate years without Alternative Breaks and hope that many other UMD students get to say the same!

Hi supporters and friends of AB!

We can't believe the outpouring of support in our LaunchUMD campaign thus far- you all are great! Currently we are 59% funded and have 5 days left to reach our goal of supporting an additional 35 Alternative Breakers with scholarships. 

As a result of your generosity, we already will be able to award the largest number of need-based scholarships to UMD students who want to engage in these transformative experiences! That means more students who will learn about social issues, build relationships with diverse communities across the globe, and be empowered to live as Active Citizens throughout the rest of their life. What an awesome way to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of Alternative Breaks!

Alternative Breaks Intern

With 24 hours left to go, the LaunchUMD Alternative Breaks Scholarship project is now 103% funded!! 

We have exceeded the original goal of raising $8,000 to fund additional need-based Alternative Breaks scholarships. In just a month, 107 individuals, family members, friends and alumni have contributed to the cause giving more students than ever the ability to participate in transformative service-learning experiences through Alternative Breaks. It has been incredible seeing the outpouring of support. 

On behalf of the entire AB program, participants and community partners around the globe, we want to express our gratitude and appreciation for making this ambitious initiative such a huge success. Your contribution makes a world of difference for an AB participant. We simply can't thank you enough!
