Good morning everyone;
We want to take this time to express my sincere gratitude to you all for your support in helping SLEP meet its fundraising goal. Thanks to you all, we were able to reach our fundraiser goal of raising $3,000. Overall, we have raised $5,040 ($500 from the 2019 Spring Do Good mini-grant, $750 from the College Park Scholars Terp Philanthropy, $500 donation from the Smith Business School, and $250 from the Vice President’s Office).
As we set out to launch the pilot program, we want you all to know we are truly appreciative of your support to SLEP. Please be on the lookout for the newsletter we will be sending throughout the year with updates on the children's progress. We hope you all will join us in May 2020 for the program's graduation :)
Sincerely,
Rick & Hafis
A donation of $10 will help with the purchase of literacy materials needed to create Trace and Copy booklets which are necessary to help with motor skills. We need to provide 35 booklets for the participants in the program.
A donation of $30 will help with the purchase of software programs needed to access, evaluate, and monitor the children's progress during the academic year.
A donation of $50 will help provide a modest stipend to the literacy tutors for their commitment to the program.
A donation of $100 will cover the cost of Fingerprinting and Child Protective Services (CPS) background check and medical clearance (tuberculosis shot) for a tutor. SLEP needs to complete the clearance of 15 UMD tutors.
