Help Save Coach Fellows Era Basketball History Today!
As one of Bud Millikan’s first recruits, Frank Fellows played under Coach Millikan from 1950 to 1953. After coaching high school basketball in Silver Spring, MD, he returned to his alma mater in 1961 as an assistant coach for Millikan to handle scouting UMD opponents, high school prospects, and coaching the freshman team.
After six years as a freshman coach, with a record of 70-21, Fellows was promoted to head coach in 1967, upon Bud Millikan’s retirement. In two seasons, he led the Terps to a record of 16-34 and was responsible for developing such players as Will Hetzel, Tom Milroy, and Rod Horst.
