Team AloeSporin (link to site) is a Class of 2024 undergraduate research team within the University of Maryland, College Park Gemstone Honors Program.
AloeSporin aims to create a cut-and-scrape ointment that can combat bacterial growth and stimulate the rate of skin cell regeneration. Ultimately, the team will add data and research to the field of antibiotics and plant-medicine in hopes of contributing to the search for a solution to antibiotic resistance.
Now in our third year, after having conducted a thorough literature review and developed our methodology, we are looking to fund our ambitious project.
This fundraising campaign will aid in the purchase of the general lab supplies, experimental reagents, bacterial cell lines and skin cell cultures we will need to conduct our experiments.
Your support will give us the unique opportunity to conduct research as undergraduate students, and aid in our contribution to new medical discoveries in the early stages of our careers.
Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please see your tax advisor for details.
